Maritz started her career as a Teacher at the University of the Philippines Integrated School. In 1981, she was recruited as a part-time Agent of Sun Life of Canada. She left UP after she earned a huge commission equivalent to 3 years’ salary in one month. To this day, Maritz has not regretted her decision to become a professional Sun Life Advisor.
Maritz is now the Branch Manager of the Eucalyptus New Business Office, one of the 45 Branches of Sun Life Financial in the Philippines. Her team consists of more than 200 advisors, with 4 Sales Managers, 20 Unit Managers and 20 Manager Candidates. The Eucalyptus Branch is multi-awarded and holds the distinction of being 1st Runner Up in President's Cup in 2007 and 2015, the highest Award in Sun Life for Agencies nationwide. Eucalyptus is a pioneer in the provincial expansion of Sun Life and was awarded top ISO in four consecutive years from 2010-2013.
Maritz has gathered numerous awards and recognition in her 24 years with Sun Life. Her other honors include having served GAMA as its President in 2004, a member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) in 2006 and a consistent International Management Awardee of GAMA international for 17 consecutive years from 200-2016. She has also been to many places in North America, Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Iceland. All these trips are given free, courtesy of Sun Life for excellent performance.
Maritz is a Fellow of the Life Underwriters Training Council (LUCTF). A graduate of the 1st batch of the Essentials of Management Development Program (EMD) of the General Agents and Managers Association (GAMA) in 1999 and a candidate for graduation of the Asian Management Leadership Training (AMLIT), as a Certified Agency Manager (CAM), a degree course provided by the University of Malaya. Aside from leading her Sun Life branch to heights of excellence, Maritz is sought after by her colleagues for her expertise and her experience. Whenever her busy schedule permits, she obliges to share because she believes in the GAMA motto of "Growth Through Sharing"
